Just started to read this but the start of the book has fascinated me...it starts by saying that I had always thought that a person born blind and given sight later on in life through the miracles of modern medicine would feel reborn. That is not the case apparently..those gifted with new eyesight become frightened and confused and tend to retreat into their own worlds. Some beg to become blind again...it must be so scary to go from a world of darkness (predictable) to a world of colour (unpredictable and changing all the time)??? :-Dx
